The Coos Bay mooring
Approximate position: 43-09.4N 124-34.1W
Bottom depth: 100m
The Coos Bay mooring included the following sensors:
SBE37 with conductivity, and temperature @ 20m
InterOcean S-4 current meter @ 22m
Vemco thermister @ 28m
SBE37 with conductivity, and temperature @ 35m
Vemco thermister @ 50m
Aanderaa RCM 4 or 5 @ 65m
Vemco thermister @ 80m
Teledyne RD Instruments Workhorse Sentinel upward looking at 94m
SBE37 with conductivity, and temperature @ 95m
DATA
Data is divided into 3 parts, water property data, which consists of temperature and salinity, if available at that depth, and velocity, consisting of u and v components. All files are text, tab delimited.
Temperature columns have a header beginning with CB for the Coos Bay data, T to indicate temperature followed by the depth in meters. For example, CBT35 means the data is temperature from the Coos Bay mooring at 35m. Salinity columns have similar headers. For example, CBS95 means the data is salinity from the Coos Bay mooring at 95m.
Date and time is listed as GDATE to indicate time in GMT, format mm/dd/yy hh:mm
CBT21, CBS21, CBT28, CBT35, CBS35, and CBT50 end 7/15/04
CBT80 ends 9/01/04
Gaps are filled with zeroes.
Units used are: u component, v component: cm/sec
Date and time is listed as GDATE to indicate time in GMT, format mm/dd/yy hh:mm.
Velocity columns have a header indicating the depth. For example CBu10 indicates the data is from the u component on the Coos Bay mooring, at 10m.
